I was told in CR today that fishing line was good retainer material. I hadn't heard this before. Has anyone any experience with it? also, it'd be a bit obvious to use it as retainer material for a labret, should I get one next summer, so is there anything more subtle I could use?

It does sound vaguely familiar to me...but I'm not sure why and I haven't had any dealings with it.
I don't see why you can't just use a normal retainer for a labret piercing...just don't screw on the ball..it's practically invisable.
I put in a retainer for my vertical labret for work and I don't screw on the bottom ball, it goes pretty much unseen..
usually I have my supervisor on to me to take it out, along with my nose ring...
since I put in the retainer she's just telling me to take out my nose ring, just cos she can't see it.
    simple as.

Yeah, but they're really not keen on it. We shall see...
