    22nd October 2005

As of now, the newly formed UL DJ Society will be warming up every night with DJs from their member base and guest DJs who have an affiliation with the society. This will help us achieve the goal of helping our members get gigs and experience as laid out in our constitution.

In return, Vivamusic Studios will be providing workshops for our members in area's such as:

    - Digital production
    - Digital DJing
    - Turntablism

Dan Sykes explains what you should expect from them:

    "- Digital production
covering software such as Cubase Sx, Reason, soundforge and plugins

    - Digital DJing
Using final scratch and abelton, midi controllers etc

    - Turntablism
from basic mixing to advanced techniques

We understand that there will be all levels of skill etc so we will be running workshops for all levels.
From basic beat mixing and scratching to more advanced techniques as transforming and beat juggling. Our incredably talented A2DF is gonna supply demos's and info on turntablism.

We will be running demo's on production explaining software, techniques, sampling and more.
Also we will be covering Digital Djing with software such as Abelton live5 and tractor.

We are very pleased to announce that for all viva gigs we will be using Djs from the uldjsoc to perform warm up slots as well as headlining.and remember you dont have to be from U.L to join.

The Viva website will be updated by next week to include dj mixes etc from members of the Dj society and our own Djs."

You do not need to be a student in UL to join the society.
Membership levies are Eur 4 for UL Staff & Students, Eur 10 for everyone else.
