    I like it

A bit more of this sort of pro-active policing and the streets would be safer!

I'm not sure it was the most constructive thing the cop could have done. Confiscating the phone on the other hand might have made some sense.

I prefer active policing to passive policing but the odd whack with a baton never hurt anyone. Right?

"I’m really angry because I didn’t do anything and this guy just chucked me in there like a piece of rubbish,” he said.
    A likley story!

“I couldn’t believe what this guy was doing but I just tried to get it all on camera. You hear so much in the news about teenagers and ‘happy slapping’ but this shows we can do good things with our phones as well.”

In June the rape of a girl aged 11 was filmed by a gang of teenage boys.
    Bloody hell!

Once again the law will more than likely be on the side of the scum bag. Imagine how embarassing it will be for the cop if he gets suspended.

If you ask me, the cops aren't given enough jurisdiction to deal with delinquents. The law should be changed to allow police to use more force, should they see fit to, without having their hands tied. They should be able to do their job without fear of legal repercussion inhibiting them. If offenders don't want to be punished, then don't do the crime.

I believe that if a more physically coercive approach was used - i.e. something along the lines of what this cop in England has done - there wouldn't be as much harmful antisocial behaviour (such as this 'happy slapping' bull****) or harmful criminal activity there is at present.

I'd be pretty surprised if the majority of the population would not support the use of excessive force against scumbags. The current system of punishment has on many occasions proven to be insufficient.
