i posted this in the gadgets forum but no one responded

does anyone know if it would be possible to charge a creative zen using an ipod charger. the charger just goes from a plug to a usb socket so would the zen just see it as a (3.3V ?) voltage source and charge as if it was in a computer?

If it's just the usb->device cable style charger you're talking about, then yes, it should be no problem. If it's something you plug into the wall, then you need to check the output current and voltage matches the expected input of the zen.

If the iPod recharges through USB, and the Zen recharges through USB, and the power cable you're connecting is a USB cable, then yes. I'd be fairly certian (95%+) that you'd have no problem.

highly unlikely that you can do this.

the ipod uses a special connecter to connect to ipod's that is not industry standard like usb type.

the top connector is what connects to the ipod.

now i don't know if you mean connect the zen to the usb and charge through the firewire? as that's the only way i could see it being done.

Weird. I thought I saw a much smaller connector on my mates one. It looked just like the one that goes into my digital camera (which charges my nephews zen micro just fine).

If it's just a "wont fit" thing, then you must be spot on.

    on the page it says:

    Shipping: Shipping rates and policies
Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S.

Also, it'll be a 110v device, so the plugs over here will probably kill it
