Well, as someone whos just been through the same thing, my first piece of advice is not to buy Non brands like Vivitar. Ive just bought a Sony F505V of someone here on boards, For 170 Euro, and trust me, there is nothing like the quality on this, that you can buy new for your budget. I suggest you look at Optical zoom rates ONLY..digital zoom sux on most digicams, and also check battery power rates. One camera in perticular could only last 10 mins on Alkalines, and 30 mins on Rechargebles. I reccomend you buy one second hand off someone here on boards, for the same money, your getting a MUCH better camera. Probably the best thing to do is research a few models, check the prices, then aim to buy one here/buyandsell/ebid.ie etc... There are 2 camera shops in dublin that ive come accross as bieng great, ive given you the url's below, give them a ring, they give great advice, and if you tell them your budget, they were even willing to come down in price on the camera for a quick sale!! Hope this helps.
