Bare with me i'm a bit of a novice when it comes to computers, anyway I'm finding its running slow and thought if I added some RAm would it run better or whats the story? If thats the case what should I go for. Spec wise I have a DIM 2400 celeron 2.6ghz and 256 MB Ram if that makes any difference. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Well yes, extra ram would help. You would have to get the same speed as you have now, cant mix and match. I would suggest loosing the 256meb and just getting a Gig of Ddr 333 if your mobo supports it :).

How would I go about doing that? Losing the the 256 and adding the other one.

open your case, locate memory+memory slots, take it out and may sell it.
or simply get additional 256mb and add it.

    up to your pocket...

a celeron 2.6ghz deserves more ram than that to complement it. I think youll be very pleasantly surprised with the performance improvement.

I recently got ram from crucial [ http://www.crucial.com/eu/ ] , it was easy to find the ram I needed from the site, and it arrived in 3 days!

    Goto: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php#download
Look @ the top left-hand side of the page, and you'll see the link for CPU-Z 1.30. Run that, and under the Memory and SPD tabs, you'll see the type of memory your motherboard has. Then goto shop4memory.com, and pick the relevent memory.
