Quick shout out to all the other colleges (not DIT i see and hear enough of u lot! )

How have other colleges recrutment/first trainings being going?

If there are any questions people running clubs might have, no need to get worried there are plenty of people here to give you advice about stuff. Even if we were in a different college!
we know its not easy to ballance college and club workload!

Most of the regular posters here have had a hand in either starting or running a club so feel free to ask questions even if they might sound silly!

Oh yea and if there are any people in colleges without clubs who would like to start one pm me or Toxof! we can see what help we can give from an advise end too! (no free money though!)

We got a great set of beginners here in NUIG, all interested and willing to get in the Q for the bows. Were shooting well last week :) .........................

....................... then came the NUIG politics  .

Our hall is now set up for graduations and they won't let us shoot in the other sports hall. Usually they take 2 days to set up the hall so we have the week before grads to train, not this time though. This time the "workers" needed the whole week to set up leaving us with our thumbs up our ar*es and bows in their cases. The next training session we will have will be the day before the first intervarsity! Hopefully the newbies will come back!

How do the rest of ye deal with college politics with halls? We get shafted everytime!

I never thought i'd say it but i actually missed crawling out of bed for training this morning! sad i know!! :o
However, in relation to new club members, think we got really lucky this year. All week walking about college i've been bumping into them. they are all gutted bout no training but can't wait to get back to it either. I think having the craic with thema nd sharing our social habits worked well! must arrange another social soon. have been asked already by about 20 people when the next one is!!:D :D:D

well if DIT are anything to go by, politics and archery make archery lose every time.
As I think we said a few times we only had one hour of training each week last year. At lunch time  It doesn't make for a happy bunch of archers. Pretty screwed us for beginners too.
You just have to roll with the punches I suppose.
