ITV 4 on cable here?

Hi,
Does any one know if we will be getting the new sky channels...

Sky One Mix will be rebranded to Sky Two
and a new channel Sky Three will be added. Now sky three will be available on Freeview in the UK...

Oh and what about ITV4... is that coming?

Sky Three was always going to be on Freeview as it will be Sky's new propaganda

machine on DTT in the UK, also FTV on satellite

will NTL carry Sky 3 and ITV 4?
only NTL, Sky and ITV will know that

Yes Men & Motors is staying. The new ITV4 will only run from 6pm in the evenings.

And as Mossy already pointed out, Only NTL and Sky know if they are lauching here, and they are keeping very quiet about it.

Where did you hear it was staying? Last I heard from our friends over at Digital Spy, it was expected to be replaced by ITV4.

Aren't they planning to timeshare ITV4 with a childrens channel?

To be honest I'd take the wikipedia article with a pinch of salt because it would be easy for me to edit it right now to say that it *will* be replacing Men & Motors. I've read the articles at the bottom of the page and there's no confirmation from ITV that it won't be replacing M&M. The only thing I can find is this:

It's going to be a male-biased channel but it's absolutely not Men and Motors

said by ITV network CEO Mick Desmond in the Digital Spy article dated May 27 this year, but to me that sounds like he's saying ITV4 won't be Men & Motors by another name, which doesn't necessarily mean that M&M won't be replaced by the new channel. Plus was replaced by ITV3 (another 'classic drama' channel), and it doesn't make sense for ITV to have two male-orientated channels in it's lineup.

I'm not saying that it definitely *will* be replaced (because I don't know for certain), but all the evidence so far is pointing that way.

Here's an email I got back from NTL

We are in ongoing discussions with ITV regarding ITV4 and other channels but are unable to confirm launch dates at the moment.
