Wow, the standard in Limerick's Southcourt weekly tourney seems to be getting worse not better. Even Fintan made the final table last night :D and he seemed to be rolling it over with 6 left when I left. Jimmy White was to make a guest appearance. He showed up for 2 minutes and played no poker. Of course being the action junkie I am had brought some extra cash just for him but he ran off scared. Pffft!

I drew a maniac table with lots of horrible players. 6-8 players limping in to see a flop in the frst few level. Chooo Chooo!! Lets all pull up at the station!!! I played one hand in the first 4 levels. I got 2 callers out of position with AK and missed flop but they were kind enough to give me a free card and I hit the turn. Up to 5200 from a starting 4000.

With blinds 100-200 I limped in UTG with KQ. one other limper and the horrible LAG on teh button raises to 700. I know exactly what he has. Guarant****ingteed to be AX, because he only plays Ax this way. This is the same clown who called off 70% of his stack when he was table chip leader against my reraise all in last week with ATo. I call and the limper calls. Flop is A-J-7 all clubs.(I have the queen of clubs) check check. Lag bets 1000. Now if he doesn't have the king of clubs I have 13 outs so he's only a slight favourite, and there's a lot of money in the pot. With the psychology of what happened last week I really thought I could get him to fold his weak ace and I moved all in. He calls with A8o no club and I miss my outs. CHIPS!!!!!

After the rebuy I got moved to a new table just as bad as the first. I picked up Q3 suited in the SB and 6 players limp in and I complete. Flop with Q-rag-rag. I check and it goes around to the button who bets 2/3 the pot. I call and everyone else folds. The turn brings a 3rd spade (I don't have one) and the button checks out of turn. Ok so he hates the spades. I bet half the pot and he reluctantly calls. River is another low spade. I know he doesn't have one. I should have just gone all in but he could still call an all in with just a queen. I make a decent sized bet, certainly enough to make it look like I have a hand and I'm looking for a call. I mean there's a ****load of hands he is behind to here. He calls me with is Queen and bigger kicker and no spade. Damn it!!!

I doubled up with Jacks when UTG played an optomistic A6 suited and I'm in slightly better shape. Then with blinds 200-400 I raised it up to 1200 in MP with QQ. BB calls. Flop is Jack high with 2 clubs. He bets 500. Don't ask me why I didn't just move all in here but instead I stuck in half my stack. He calls. Turn is the Queen of clubs!!! BOLLIX!!!! He puts me all in. Now I know its probably a flush but it could also be JQ or even a bluff because this donkey bluffed into a dry side pot earlier with Ace high and I'm actually almost priced in to chasing my 10 outs anyway so I call. He has K8 of clubs and I miss my outs.

Niall Macnamara (Hamman on Pokerstars) made his 3rd final table in a row and now tops the Munster leaderboard.

Ahh Nicky you missed it Jimmy stumbled back in just after you left shouting "I'll give any1 a head to head for a granny"
We were down to four in the main and I had to dump my chips to keep the guy entertained. He kept saying where's that big mouth baldy guy who wants to play me. He was very disappointed you left.

Nah, he saw me leaving. That's why he came back.

1st hand i probably would've called with Qclubs.

Q3s is your own fault really for limping, calling and betting with garbage, as there was any range of hands that had you beaten.

The QQ hand, i'd say he probably wouldve called an all-in bet anyway as most fish think they're odds on to hit a flush when they flopa flush draw.

gotta love that. your thought process includes the previous weeks play, the number of outs you have and his likely holding.

His thought process is.....woohoo i have a pair of A's. Oh.. and i vaguely recoqnise that guy from somewhere. :)

I doubt he's that moronic that he'd "vaguely recognise" a face he played against the week before.

That's harsh. I've seen some of the worlds top pros in this years WSOP losing their stacks on flush draws. What do you do, fold everytime?

No but there are times to call and times to fold with a drawing hand. Do you call every time you have a draw? I know i dont.

Yes perhaps you are overthinking this slightly. My approach against players such as this has been to go to hit myself over the head and concuss myself, thereby preventing me from doing anything but play ABC, 123, do-re-mi, baby you and me poker. that and overbetting with the nuts.

I agree with Marq totally. It's hard to not to try and outplay them but at the end of the day it's a losing strategy. Just wait for the nuts an play them hard. You can pick up the occasional small pot that they aren't attached to, but bluffing in raised pots against these players is a waste of time.

You've hit the nail on the head there. My 5/10 games are ruining my .50/1 games. When you play these guys you really need to keep thinking "I know he has a hand he should fold, but I know he's too stupid to fold it".
