need help with nero software

    i just purchased an external dvd burner and the s/w disk is nero oem suite

    when i try to install the in cd part of it, an error msg tells me that it cannot install in cd because sonic direct letter access is installed and needs to be uninstalled first - however i cannot find an uninstall icon - so i tried to delete all the sonic files from the program files folder but it still wont work - can anybody help me or tell me what to do???

    Try reinstalling Sonic and then uninstalling again.

    i cant find the sonic cd and i've tried to remove it from the control panel but it doesnt appear on the list of programs!!

    Think you might need something like a system mechanic to get rid of the rubbish files left behind. Ashampoo do this one:)

    i downloaded ashampoo and although it did free up a gig of space for me but i still cannot run the in cd installer!!

    its really frustrating i need to save files from the computer as i am running out of memory!!

    is there any thing else i can try???

    Run Regedt32 and search for any mention of SONIC.
    That'll probably sort it.

    But remember its your registry your messin with so if you don't know what you're doing then bets to leave it alone maybe.

    as far as i can see the above programme cleans out roxio and sonic any cd
    so you could give it a try
