This has happened to me ever since i got my new computer, Christmas 04. I know that was a while ago but i'm lazy and then i forgot for a while. Basically waht happens is, more often than not whenever i turn off my computer it bluescreens with:
    Hardware malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
someletter MI: parity check/memory parity error
    ***the system has halted***

I'm well aware it says to ring hardware vendor, Dell, but i was wondering is there anything that can be done myself? incase i have to send my computer off

    parity check/memory parity error
Sounds like dodgy RAM, tbh. Get it fixed before the 12 month warrenty expires. When a mate's hard-disk went, they just sent out a new one. TBH, I say the same thing will happen with ye, but just don't break the seal on the back of the PC, just in case they want you to send it back.
