    Hello there,

I've been told Denis Hickey broke his leg during training yesterday and got an operation in St-Vincent's hospital...

Any of you heard anything about that? Found nothing on the web...

Poor Denis... He hasn't played his best rugby lately but I still think it is a big blow for Leinster and Ireland at the eve of the H-Cup and the Autumn Internationals... :(

    I wish him a speedy recovery :o

Could have been worse i suppose...
But Hickie struggles with his form so much because he always picks up at least one semi-serious injury a season...It's a shame, and he's never really got back to where he was about 3 years ago. :(

    Weaker.
    badoom tschh!

With no Hickey, and no Warner,
Contepomi will have to go to 10
Kearney will start instead of Hickie
D'Arcy in the centre - partnered by Horgan??
    Norton on the other wing??

or possibly lewis in the centre and horgan on the wing.

I can relate to Denis, fractured my fibula in training last week, stuck at home, bored and oh it's my first post

And what a way to start your boards.ie life! :p

Hickey didn't "fracture" his fibula though, he (only) dislocated it. Poor you Misumi... As I did for Denis Hickey, I also wish you a speedy recovery! :)

I'm lucky I never (really) got injured in rugby! Got a skull fracture and got knocked out during 2 different games last year but otherwise nothing! I'd really hate to brake a bone... :(

    ta!
i'd prefer a fractured fibula to a fractured skull anyday!

It wasn't that bad! Just a crack on the front of the cranium. Didn't actually know I had it until I got X-Rays and a scan (1 month after it happened...) after getting knocked out. So I actually played 3 rugby games with a fractured skull!
Lucky I didn't get another big knock on the same spot!

Kearney was class against bath, reminds me a bit of Hickie..

What's the story with his inury?

I got a concussion before in rugby which is a sick feeling...physically sick, disorientated..horrible.

Also pulled ligaments in my knees 4 times and can't play because of it anymore  tour crutiat and median ligaments beofre ... Possibly the most painfull sports injury possible i'm reliably informed, and i'd believe it.

Felt like sh!t for 2 days after I got knocked out... It's just horrible. The worse is when you start understanding what's going on but you still can't remember where you are or what's happening. Scary feeling!
Apparently I was happily chatting with my mate for 30 minutes on the side line (can't remember myself...) and every 20 seconds I was asking "Where are we?". Made him laugh... Scared the sh!t out of me when I came to though! Didn't know what the hell was happening!

Now this is something I'm really, REALLY, praying I never have trouble with! Hard luck DubGuy :(

One of the main reasons i don't really play rugby any more is that i've been knocked out about 7-8 times. That and the fact my shoulders have a chronic dislocation issue which means i can't prop.

Jesus RuggieBear! You have to tackle the players with your arms! Not your head! :p
Happened to me once. Hope it never happens again...

And if you want to stop propping do like me: Lipotrim for 3-4 weeks the move to back-row! I'm so happy at number 8 now! :D:D:D

Wait a sec......how do you dislocate your fibula? Think of the bone, there's no movement around it so I don't know what he did to dislocate it twice. My dad broke his twice playing football, and he couldn't understand how someone could dislocate it

that's a pity, Denis is a brilliant player, and to get another setback like this isn't good news at all. Hopefully he wont be out for too Long as I'd imagine a dislocation isn't as bad as a break.
