And, at times, the old board was sloooow.

It's taking some pages more than a full minute to load. a032.gif

    Thank God Firefox has tabs.

On a more positive note, this feature is really cool!

Teething problems tbh. Though it's picked up a lot in the last 5 minutes. I'm also getting connection timeouts every so often, so I'm guessing it's one of the many tweaks the admins are working on.

    Slllooowwwww bboooaarrrrdddssss....

Just adding a count++ to the old "boards is really slow" complaint. I'm opening several tabs, wandering away, and coming back to find em still opening :(

The odd time everything zips up pronto but I'm generally finding things quite slow, slower than the previous server and it's the same as earlier today. I dunno it could be a firefox problem with me. On a few sites today I've had some sort of trouble loading up the pages.

working fine for me at the moment. speed wise. only timed out while there was work being done so that does not worry me.

The post new message box looks all shiny and new.

The comic font seems to be easiest on the eyes, especially size 5.

Picking up a bit speed wise.
But I still find it quite slow which must be putting off potential readers/users.
Slow takes the joy out of boards :/

No matter how slow it is for the first few days, it has to be beneficial security wize. You can be damned sure there were security fixes in the upgrade.

I'm sure Cloud and the gang will find some way of tweaking it:D

    Fair play on the upgraders.
The downtime made me realise (again) how much I enjoy boards.ie. Long may boards.ie reign!

    LMAO :D

I found boards extremely slow at some points today, then after the "tweaking of wiki" was done it seemed to speed up again. Now it seems to be running quicker than the old boards.

Also, the new edit thing is great, pops open immediately unlike the old one.

Much improved this morning. Has regi implemented the load balancing?

Been dog slow (at least as slow as before) for me since 10.30am this morning (using www.boards.ie, not an IP address, or anything.. in case load balancing is at play).

The servers are being tweaked by Regi today. I think intermittent slow downs will happen as whenever large operations are going on behind the scenes the system is going to crawl, plus we are experiencing some issues with load balancing the software but I've no doubt Regi et al willl over come them.

I've found Boards to be very fast and consistant (despite a couple of timeout messages) since the upgrade, especially after the first day. Looks like the teething problems are being overcome.

Thank you to the upgraders and all the people who work on Boards. :)

Generally, since the upgrade (apart from the 'first day back' itself, when I'm sure the 'ironing out teething problems' operation was being carried out and thousands of people were logging in at once) I've found the site to be much nippier and better featured, so 6 big thumbs up here! :D
