    Hi guys my job pays for my vhi right they have paid 650 so far but i am paying tax on that of say 130 euro or so. surely thats not right ?

    That's dead right.

    We get a benefit allocation every year that's taxed as part of our normal income. That is, we get a certain amount of money each year to spend on certain benefits (healthcare|pension|travelcards|etc), which is paid into our monthly salary and taxed as normal.
