So what is something you say all the time.. your "signature word or phrase" if you will?

I tend to say "interesting" or "cute" a lot. I need new adjectives!

    What about you?

    :D

Someone: "What was I about to say...".
Me: "Don't know, you haven't said it yet".

    "Smashing"

Got hooked on saying it from the Simpsons episode where they go to London.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,954 ✭✭✭✭Larianne

    Deadly!
And at the moment for some strange reason I am saying "God Dam" a lot.

Ever since wednesday (ireland match) i've been saying ridiculous a lot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,561 ✭✭✭Rhyme

I definitely say 'fair enough', 'interesting' (with eyebrow raised) and 'superb' too much

'sure', 'like' and 'really?' - that one bugs me. If somebody tells me something like "I walked my dog yesterday", I'll inexplicably reply "Really?" as if I don't believe them.

"hold on to your receipt for your guarantee" and it rarely works

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,231 ✭✭✭✭Sparky

    "cheers" or "grand"

    Mmm,yeah I know,

    Given as an answer to:

(a)Something I'm not really interested in.

(b)Someone who not interested in the answer, just the sound of the their own voice asking pointless questions.

Pigheads about half way into town and you can bet you're bottom dollar he'll come out with the "Oh fiddlesticks,I think i left the left ring on the cooker on again".

"Christ on a bike" as an exclamation of suprise :)

"Cheers mate" instead of thank you

\Edit\ "Im definatly over her this time" is becoming phrase of the year for me :o

    "Bizarre"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,182 ✭✭✭Tiriel

"I don't know" I keep saying it and it's really beginning to annoy me!! Think it was only when it was pointed out to me that I say it a lot, that I realised how much I actually say it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,240 ✭✭✭Endurance Man

    "Im over it".

I'm the same way. I didn't realize how much I say "cute" or "yeah" (forgot to mention that one) until someone pointed it out. Now I catch myself saying it... hehe

    ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,584 ✭✭✭Diarmsquid

"Really?" or "Seriously?" in a really enthusiastic voice.
Makes the person who's talkin feel that what they're saying is very interesting.
Then they go on and on...
    I should really stop.

"intriguing......" coupled with the raised eyebrow for effect.

Usually when I'm talking to someone with really bad english and I haven't a clue what they just said.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,440 ✭✭✭Dizzyblabla

Not as annoying as the arseholes who use the word like every second word, izzle means nothing, like means something, the over- and extra-grammatical use of the word like cheapens its actual mean, not to mention drives me round the twist.

They should really hand out earplugs getting on the Luas to Sandyford for that very reason.

"Ah thats class/Classic" annoying me now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,618 ✭✭✭Civilian_Target

    "Huge" and "Yore Ma"

Most annoying over used word ever is "Like".

    Beginning every sentance with

    1. Actually...
