Where do I put a notice thing?

    Hey,

    Just wondering, are there general notice boards somewhere? I've seen a load of course/faculty-specific notice-boards, but are there just general ones that people can use? Where are they, and do I have to get permission to put stuff up on it?

    I'm asking cos I'm thinking of putting up an ad for starting a band (ie. looking for people who want to start one up)

    Any help? Thanks

    I've seen notices about bands and stuff on the walls round the student union shop, could try there.

    Anywhere really.

    You can't put them on doors, floors, roofs and you're not supposed to use step ladders (risk of people falling, suing college etc). Don't put them on top of an exist poster unless it's advertising for an event that has already taken place, or it's a ad for a non-UCD organisation.

    UCD is a large place, you'd be better off printing a few posters and putting them around the place.

    There are general notice boards in the Restaurant right near the doors.

    Lots of places to put posters, so.

    Heard your stuff on the pimp my band forum. Jolly good show!
    Good luck finding people. I'm a drummer and in UCD (obviously). Maybe we could have a jam sometime or something? Did you join JazzSoc? They're having regular jams. Should be good craic

    Didn't feel compelled to reply to the thread though? :p Just kidding ;) Yeah we'll have a jam some time :) (after I meet you, presumably, lol). Nah I didn't join JazzSoc... I was thinking about it, but I'm not too good at playing jazz (truth be told, I'm crap!) -- do they only play jazz, or is that just their name?

    They have Jazz/Funk/Light jams one week and Rock/Metal/Harder Funk jams the next. You could probably join up now anyway! The Rock/Metal one is on tomorrow so I'll head to that and tell you what it's like!
