    Hi

Has anyone used or heard of BearShare for downloading files? It claims to be legal and after paying a sub fee everything is legit. Is this true? How much does the sub cost and is there adware or spyware bundled with it?

To quote BearShare web site :"Purchase is not a license to share copyrighted material"

Its just like any other P2P program. You can share and swap what you like as long as its not copyright material.

As for the fee: This allows you to get the Pro version which is ad free. Which implies that the free version is riddled with spyware etc.

If you're hoping to pay the fee and then download all the music you want legitmately them you're out of luck I'm afraid.

I've used BearShare. Yes it contains spyware/adaware. SaveNow and possibly more. No, you are not SUPPOSED to remove it as this is how they sponsor there software. Yes I BELIEVE it will run without the adaware. Tedious to remove, registry entries too, files locked as in use etc. but I do like using it myself.

No I have never used to Pro version and yes your machine will grind to a halt due to the adaware.

No I don't know how to remove it, but there are TOOLS out there that will. People dilligent enough, PROBABLY can remove it manually.

USE it, but be WELL AWARE of the adaware.

    Mot.
