hi, looking at Lowe's Fairview Pant for the winter months, i.e. a hard shell where you wear it come all weather, rather than having to put on / take off waterproof outers

anyone any recommendations on alternatives or that one from Lowe?

    thanks

I have a pair of outer's that have a full length side zip, so you do have to take them on and off but with a little practice it only takes a few seconds. Easy on and easy off when wearing big boots or crampons (or if it just starts to rain). I've had them a couple of years and I think they're the Storm Gaiter Pant.

i'll look them up - i got a pair of their ridge tripple-point pants on saturday but the zippers only went up to below the knee and couldn't physically get my boot through so a full length zip sounds like a much better solution

    thanks
