How to fix water damage in laptop LCD?

Silly me, I left my laptop in the boot of my car the other night and water leaked into my laptop. I dried it out and all seems fine except for the screen which seems to have what looks like a big blobby stain on it where, I suppose water went in or is still in it.

Anyone here have any experience with same? Can it be repaired? Do I have to send it to manufacturers for replacement? Is there any where in Ireland to do these repairs? And finally, any ideas how much it would cost?

    Thanks,

    T.

by blob on the screen do you mean the LCD has actually burst, or do you mean just a water stain? if it's water, i'd imagin u could just open it, and mop it up, providing that you dont mind the warranty been void.
