How long can you hold your breath?

I was reading an article on scuba diving today and it had a section on holdin your breath and I wondered how long I could hold mine. I got around 70secs.
How long can you hold it for?

108 seconds but i know i can do better... a good trick is to take 4 or 5 deep quick breaths before.

Dunno. Roughly around 70 seconds, more or less. (It's been a while since I held my breath...)

Not sure really, will have to give it a bash later. Iv been held under deep water a few times after coming short on a wave

Tried it just now. 1m40 ... and I don't consider myself fit at all so I'm guessing the average is higher than that?

BTW little known fact that if you leave Guybrush under the water in MI1 for more than 10mins .... he DOES die!

Myself and my brother (scuba diver) can both go for a little over 3 minutes when at rest. We are both pretty fit, but also my normal heartrate at rest is around 50, so that probably helps.

1 min 31secs comfortably. I'm pretty sure I could hold it for over 2 mins.

No, I was wrong. 1 min 47 secs on my 2nd attempt and a real struggle in the last 10 secs.

afaik 2 minutes...that was 2 years ago during a scuba diving lesson so it could be more or less now

3-4 minutes,I assume it's just because of all the swimming I have done..I find it harder to hold my breath out of water though but heck if I had to I'm sure I'd give it a good shot.
