Ive tried spyware search and destroy and avg and a few others none of them are working...

my computer is riddled with jamster popups and adultfinder etc and when i run programs like steam i get booted to desktop and the popups come up..

they make everything lag and go real slow and there all Internet Explorer i dont even use IE any ideas?

im just using the regular windows firewall could that be a problem?

    try http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
I have used this on a couple of machines and seems to have worked well. In terms of the firewall I cant comment as I am using w2k, but I have installed the free zonelabs firewall and it seems to work fine for me.

You did update spybot before running it right? Have you tried Adaware? This must be some serious spyware if those 2 cant get it off, what web pages have you been visiting there m8

When you say popups what exactly do you mean? Are they windows messages which pop up on your computer in a window titled Messenger Service? If so you need to stop your messenger service. This only needs to be enabled on networks in case the admins want to send messages. On stand alone pcs it can just be a tool of annoyance. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/security/learnmore/stopspam.mspx

Actaully you could also just install a decent Firewall and deny IE interent access while you are playing, simple.
