    hi
i have a 9800pro that i don't need anymore. I think it's working but i'm not 100% sure - as when i left it into a secondhand shop to sell it they told me they couldn't get it to boot. it worked most of the time for me until i upgraded. it's got an arctic cooler on it too.

i've not got the time or inclination to sort it out, and i don't want to just bin it, so:
if any regular poster wants it, and will send me a padded jiffy bag for return, you are welcome to it. first come first served i guess, subject to my casting vote :)

post here to bagsie it and send me a pm i guess, i will check again during the week. it might take a few weeks to sort out because i mightnt get the chance to get to the post office.

If it doesn't work, can I have the Artic Cooler? I have a 9700pro so it will probably fit that. :D

    .

well.. ill just say this... after i put the arctic cooler on my 9800 it died as well, after about a week (would not boot) . i then bought a Nvidia 6800 and gave the 9800 to a mate to play around with. He put the stick cooler back on it and it works fine... and has continued working since... stay away from them artic coolers..

The arctic coolers work perfectly if positioned correctly on the card. I've fitted a few of them and they all work fine. It's all about getting it tight enough to cool the chip, but not so tight that it will crush it!

Mutant if you can't get the 9800 working, I'd love to get the arctic cooler off you. A friend of mine needs one (as his stock cooler's fan is broken). He would probably pay 10 for it.

I'm assuming the card is buggered. If a shop couldn't get it to work, it must be buggered. In that case i'll gladly pass on the artic cooler to whoever needs it.

If it DOES work, i might have a 9600pro to pass on. Thats assuming the 9600pro doesn't work in my older computer (i'm pretty sure it won't as the PSU is 200watt). If the 9600pro works in the old computer, i'll have a sturdy GeForce3 to pass out. The only problem with that is that the fan on the card stopped working a few months ago :P Still going strong though :)

Either way, there'll be a free GFX card passed out if this card works or an Artic Cooler if it doesn't work.

Bagsie 9600 Pro (or the nVidia if the 9600 Pro works in your older rig), if you do pass it on :D;). You can also keep the 9600 Pro cooler if you need it, got a spare from a 9700 pro here :)

I have a machine that could take that GF3 in that case... ;)

I'd like to bagsie it. Why? Look at the pictures here for my reason: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=276541

A 9800pro will allow me to see stuff :)

    Thanks.

I'll take it if its free :) The above reason is the same for this one, as the 9600 is within the min specs for BF2.

Tanks:p, but I'm going to stay away from the MX stuff, as they're not meant to be too good.
