    Just relist it, headshot.
Youve seen all the threads we've had about the ebay users with 0 feedback, who pretend the item is for their [cousin/sister/friend] etc, and want to pay by WU or postal order. And they are almost always scams.

Try not to brand all nigerian people as scammers btw.

ah but if i send it he could say he never got it and go back to ebay and ill have give a full efund

Well, just hold tight for the time being*. Ask him for the money to be paid using paypal only. State very very clearly that you will not accept payment unless it's paypal. He wont pay, and will most likely not even respond to your messages. Then you can re-list your item.

    * or you could report the user as being suspicious to ebay. they get 100s of these every day. You will most likely find his account deleted in a timely fashion if you report him to ebay as being suspicious.

(heh, hows that for a speedy 10 replies to your thread :) )

Headshot just relist the item and say you were a bit suspicious of the buyer because they were new and had no feedback, that is of course if Ebay come asking.

Have a read of the stickie at the top of this forum re: scams.
It'll show you what will/would have happened if you trusted the guy.

Is that what really happens? if anybody says they didnt receive goods YOU have to pay? I thought it was paypals insurance or something.

Anytime they do all this "present for somebody" crap it has got to be a scam. I figure it is something to do with their paypal registered address. Some sellers insist on sending to registered paypal addresses only.

enable me make immediate payment via paypal
    so whats the problem.
You shop item by registered mail once you see the money in your paypal account.
Of course its probably a stolen or phished CC but thats technically not your problem and you wont be liable afaik.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,374 ✭✭✭Gone West

    wrong.
Do not send an item if you suspect its on a stolen/phished cc.
Even if you dont have any morals or ethical hangups about aiding somebody in stealing money, you may still have to pay. And its a crime.

Simply click "Report this seller as being suspicious"
    how many times... :)

I dont see how you can say "wrong" unless you are talking morals, but thats another thread.
Its a crime to knowlingly accept stolen money/goods

Paypal will hold you liable for refunding if it is a stolen credit card or if you send it without online tracking. If you have money in your Paypal account, Paypal will simply take it back - no questions asked. If you have no money in your Paypal account, Paypal will put your balance into negative.

I would ignore the bidder and relist the phone.

To get protection you have to ship the item using a service that provides tracking - this prevents the seller just not sending and the buyer saying it just didn't turn up. Also you can only request 3 paypal refunds per year which is something I only found out this week when researching regarding 2 dodgy transactions..

lads iv had to relist my phone 3 times now how can i stop people bidding with a feedback as low as 0

  • Site Banned Posts: 5,904 ✭✭✭parsi

see http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/buyer-requirements.html - can't block unless its less than 0 but you can block based on countries...so maybe allow onlyuk /ireland registered buyers...?

put 'no nigerian shipping' in the conditions of sale bit if you want, and no WU should be standard condition for everyone its crime central that :(

Persons with feedback of less than 5 must msg you for clearance before they bid (common that ) and ship to ireland/uk only .

or just use the buy and sell :D
