Every saturday at 23.15 Irish time.
$30+3 Freezeout. Starting stack of 5000, blinds increase every 30 minutes.
Last night this tournament had 1100 players, lasted a solid twelve hours and had a first prize of $8,250.
    Wow.

Thanks for the info. I played in it the previous week but could not remember what day it was on. When I played the blinds were 25 (?) minutes.
When I flopped a straight I raised the raiser, was re-raised all-in, call, call, re-raise and I called. Five all-in and ahead but was rivered by an ace high flush. The other thing I remrmber was the blinds started at 10, 25.
A good strategy would be sit-out or only play AA, KK until the real play starts.

Played in the first one and my QQ with moderate pre-flop action hit a QK6o board and bye-bye me to KK. Very long but good solid poker.

saw this last night allright was going to play if I had won a few SitnGo's but after finishing 4th 4 times I decided not to play! Sounds like a good game if you can sleep all day Sunday :)

LOL, no offence but that is horrible advice. Deep stacks means hands like AA go way down in value. Small pocket pairs, connectors suited or otherwise all become much more valuable because you can get to the flop for a very low % of the effective stack.

I found that the typical pot in this tournament did not have much of a relationship with the blinds. See my post above. I would be lol if I could get players to fold with a blinds X 3 raise. It developed into what I call a "jump ball" game, a bit like the Fitz Thursday night freeroll. Make a bet, you will be re-raised, and expect to fold, or get all your chips in.
My guess is that there are two groups in this tournament (1) players who think they can grind away and make their superior skill count over the long run (2) players who anticipate a lot of tight players in this tournament and think they can get the rocks in (1) to fold to a large bet.
