Since i changed to XP i've encountered an annoying little thing with winzip. When i right click on a file I no longer have the option add to <foldername>.zip

instead all i have now is add to zip and "zip and email". Is this just a setting i need to turn on? This is extremely frustrating as those extra few seconds per zip really annoy me. anyone know how to fix this?

    Thx.

yeah I presume so, haven't used it in a long while. When you click add to zip it brings up a window with a load of options yeah? I say there must be an option in the program to just zip the folder straight away. Much prefere winRAR over the old winzip and know ya can do it with that.

Does this not come under the same rule as
Q: "I have a problem with Internet Explorer"
    A: "use Firefox"
    ?

Not really a fix for winzip tbh ;)
Besides 7zip is far better :D

lol. I'm going to be liberal enforcing that rule. ;)

7zip may be better (I love it to bits), but its interface is suckage IMO. Real Windows 3.1 stuff.

Which version of WinZip are we talking about here? Did you try reinstalling WinZip? I have Winzip 8.1 installed on XP Pro and I have those right-click options you are talking about.

As a licensed user of the product you should be able to obtain support from www.pkware.com

If you are using an evaluation version you may be able to optain support with a pre-sales enquiry.

If the evaluation version has expired then you aren't allowed to winzip at all in which case you will either have to buy it or use an alternative.

Also the latest version of Winzip can generate files that can't be opened in earlier third party programs.

I have that option <foldername>.zip when I rightclick. Try updating to Winzip8.1 (my version)

The 4th post is the answer. You need to enter the settings and select integrate into shell or something like that.

Search the web for Powerarchiver 2001 , that was the last FREE version. Trialware/shareware is not FREE unless the license explicitly states an exception for personal use etc.

    Prices on current version http://www.conexware.com/order.html
