    I hate it........

Why do they always show Man Utd??

Ok bl**dy viewing figures and more money for the coffers but that should not impair their choice. Its the € talking!!

However Man Utd game is always on ITV and the same game on TV3 ? I know Granada own TV3 so do they get it cheap ?

The Sparta v Arsenal game is on the 18th and ITV1 are showing the Bucaneeers game so what are the bets TV3 will also show the same ?

    Rant over

In fairness, I've gotten to see a few Liverpool games that I normally wouldnt have seen, and for frre too, nothing wrong with that.

Viewing figures, viewing figures, viewing figures.

With the same match been shown on 2 seperate channels at the same time will only harm viewing figures more than anything.

That would be because they are owned by the same company. But still no excuse for showing the same matches!!!!

Probably because Sky has the deal to show all the other matches bar whatever one ITV/TV3 shows.

Could always go to a pub that caters to arsenal supporters.

He is actually! I met him on a united european trip last year and got chatting to him. Also, his cork accent is a lot more noticeable than in his commentary.

Well here is the response I got from TV3 spelling errors included

In reply to yours and that of many of your fellow 'Dublin Arsenal supporters club' query ,
TV3 endeavours to rotate match fixtures as much as possible to satisfy all of our viewers, however for many reasons including Sponsership and legal requirements certain match nights are compulsory for broadcast.
TV3 will screen the 'Man Utd. v Lille Metropole' game live on the 18th October.
However, we will screen complete deferred coverage, including match analysis of the 'AC Sparta Prague v Arsenal F.C.' game, post our late news bulletin.
Thank you for taking the time to contact TV3 , your feedback is genuinely appreciated.
    Kind Regards.

I emailed them back asking what their legal requirements & sponsorship reasons are I dont know of any?? Unless TV3 are paid by vodafone ?
Also certain games are compulsory for broadcast Well Utd must have a contract directly with TV3,Was this part of the Glazier deal ?

    To be continued

Man United have probably three times more supporters than any other team in this country, the only team I'd imagine who can come close is Liverpool.

Therefore TV3 are going to want to show the United games because an increase in viewers means they can charge more for advertising. There's no deal with Glazer, just a deal with their advertisers in general.

Thats my point money talks and bullsh*t walks its all about the Benjamins but they wont admit that. I did mention that do show more utd games due to the fact there are more Utd supporters and they came back with the above
There should be a more diverse range of games which is what I think uefa say
TV3 are a business and all they want is more coffers for themselves but they wont admit that. The same can be said of RTE I would like to see the % of Utd games they show in comparison to other teams ? With Chelsea winning almost everything and more fans joining the 'band wagon' will they show Chelsea games in the Future ? Mind you dont think they will have the CL coverage in the future and a good riddance to them

As far as I know, its in the CL governing rules that at least one terrestrial TV company from each country should have coverage.

I'd say we'll be watching Chelsea games in the future too, I'm seeing alot more Chelsea jerseys appearing on young kids now.

WTF kind of half arsed response is this
they have a legal requirement to show a Tuesday night game live, that game is entirely up to them, somebody else doesnt choose it

    TV3 rotate the games? bull****

full deferred coverage after the late news. some people have to work in the morning

I think all english matches should be shown on tv. But I can't really complain, I am a Utd fan...

Yeah i agree, there is RTE, Tv3, Sky and ITV and between them they cant televise 4 matches? I want to cry when tv3 and itv both show a united match when theyre through to the next stage, and e.g arsenal are playing a crunch do or die game. What i find even worse is, how the hell do you get more figures when your sharing a match with a better channel, with better commentators and err better studio analysts (theyre both ****e though).

They should definetly mix it up a little bit more. And I'm not talking just among the 4 prem clubs. The big continental clubs should get more screenings on TV3 and RTE. I know I'd rather watch some of them rather than most of the prem rubbish.
