    Buy it online from O'Neills.

Are they changing it from last year? It's reduced at the moment to 45 euro.

I was just wondering about county jerseys.Does anybody know if Dublin or Mayo are changing their jersies for next season?

I was in Elverys yesterday and saw the 55euro price tag,I'd imagine they won't.

Does anybody think 55 is a bit steep for a gaa jersey?

I work in Elverys and can confirm that last years jersey is on sale for the reduced €45. There is supposed to be a new jersey coming out because the series is now sponsored by Fosters and not Coca-Cola, but we (Ennis store) haven't got it yet.

€55 for a GAA jersey is a disgrace considering the Premiership soccer jerseys can be got for €45 or less depending on the team, size etc. I'd imagine that something around €40 would be reasonable as O'Neills have a virtual monopoly. Gaelic Gear's reputation suffered a lot this year due to their inability to have enough Galway jerseys produced for the A-I hurling final.

I don't think the main distributors ie. Elverys, Lifesytle put enough pressure on companies to reduce their prices and then they insist on getting their approx. 20% markup on every item. The worst example being the new Mycro hurling helmet being sold for €75.

    Very Honest post Chubba.

I also have quite an intimate knowledge of this area from a 'previous life'.
I know that Gaelic Gear would have been caught badly out by the Galway Success. They only started out 2 or 3 years ago, and had a hodge/podge production operation based in different locations. They also are dependent on getting their ordering correct, due to lead times in getting material from far east. Gaelic Gear have struggled for several years to try and break into this area, and up until very recently O'Neills had Croke Park in their pocket (Literally). Azzurri would have been in the same boat.
I know the founders of Gaelic Gear, and they are 100% GAA people.

I hope for their sake, they can keep improving, and challenge the monopoly that is O'Neills.

Ever single football being kicked around the fields of Ireland is coming in from Pakistan/Bangladesh/Thailand/Far East at the moment for about €2 each, O'Neills slap a logo on it, and sell them for approx €50.

sliotars cost them €1 to produce and they slap the logo on it and charge what they like

that being said - the O'Neills sliotars are the best by a mile. Last much longer than other brands

What do people think of these prices

Gaelic intercounty football 20euro (champion sports)
GAA jersey 55euro (all nationwide stores)
    Generic gaelic shorts 15.50 (Elverys)
Shockdoctor sports tech gumshield 39euro (elverys)

39 for a gum shield is expensive. The only reason i pay this is because I don't want to risk losing teeth which costs hundreds/thousands and I'm as vain as f***.

Football is ok but i feel 15 euro would be about right

jerseys are ridiculous given that many people would buy tonnes more if they were cheaper.
Shorts are a bit pricey.I think generic shorts should be about 12 euro.

What are peoples views on this? This further proves that we are living in a rip off country.Ireland is full of rip of merchants.

No if I wanted that I would have asked ''Does anybody know where I can get the international rules jersey?''

Im talking about the proper AUSTRAILIAN RULES FOOTBALL JERSEYS(GUERNSEYS) i.e. the sleevless tops!!!

And could any posts please be on topic from now on,not being an ass or anything but it gets really annoying when it goes this far off topic!

Try posting in the correct forum then.

This is a GAA forum NOT an Ozzie Rules forum.

I wasn't trying to be a smartass. I'm obviously not a moderator but i've no problem with the thread being here but technically it is off-topic. I just felt that the irony behind your little off-topic rant needed to be pointed out. :)

I calculated the price of €93 for a Sydney Swans geurnsey through there shop, and including postage it came to €93 but the postage only works out at €10 anyway,so by doing the math the price is €83

The international rules series is sponsored by coca-cola in ireland and fosters in australia, so ireland team jerseys are still being sponsored by coca-cola.
