I was sent to Bangor twice this month and my company does expenses at the same rates as civil servents. Im not a civil servent im an It consultant but they use the same rate system.

So what im looking for is the subsistence rates.

Anyway i suppose i could ask company BUT they are so slow to do anything or get any info we need that there is no point.

Anyway i spent the whole day up there and would not get home till very late.
The best i could find on finance.gov.ie was this! But thats 2004 and im sure there is a 2005 somewhere not to mention im sure there is another rate for international. NI is a different country.

Impact has a seperate one in Sterling for Officers. http://www.impact.ie/news/subabroad.htm

So does anyone out there know for certain where to find out?

As it is i put it under the 2004 one. Im going there again this month so will be handy to know what im entitled to.

just make sure you claim the classA one!!!

If there is a new rates list, its not going to be more than a few euros more.

Just make sure you find the cheapest B&B/ hostel you can so you make a few quid for the bother of having your evening messed up by being somewhere you wouldnt have ordinarily been if it wasnt for work.

I'm and IT consultant as well. When I travel in EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa), I get a daily rate of €47 per day. This is to cover lunch and dinner.

I find I wouldn't spend that much every day. Sometimes you do, sometimes you dont. Depends on the country really and how expensive it is. There are increases for places such as London were things are slightly more expensive and Norway for example, which is crazy expensive.

I pay for hotel etc myself and then get that back. Max time I have to wait is 2 weeks to get that back.

With regards to a location or expense of a hotel, you should always try and get somewhere in the city centre area if possible for ease of transport to and from the customer location and for your own benefit as well.
