Sky Remote Problem

    My sky remote seems to stop working our TV this happens sporadically and even after trying to set it up with the correct TV codes it still doesnt work.But after awhile it will start working by itself all over again.this is very frustrating could it be the I need a new remote?
    Usually in the mornings its working perfectly and then come evening time will have stopped for periods of a few seconds upto a few hours.
    Anyone got any ideas?It is about 2~years old

    Check that there are no crumbs or dirt holding the "sky" button pressed down.
    It won't go into TV mode if that button is jammed.

    tried all of d above
    very annoying problem one minute u can be turning up volume the next nothing and you dont no when its gonna work again
    I think ill prob have to get a new remote maybe
    anyone know any cheap ones online?was thinking maybe eBay

    Rarely see them cheap, but theres one for £3 stg with 3 hours left. Most ofthem are £12.99 Buy It Now and no auction pricing...

    What time of day does the sun shine direct on the IR window of your TV? Can reduce sensitivity.

    My Mitsubishi has always had a wierd bug. When in AV and the sound is muted, pressing mute to unmute or press vol + can switch to RF TV channel. Happens with TV remote or Sky Remote.

    Test your remote with a friend's TV?

    problem solved turns out lads after all it wasn't a remote problem but a TV problem which I have now fixed so thanks for all the help and tips
