Sorry i fthis is the wrong forum
Bought my sister a zen micro for her birthday, but unlike mine it came without a plug-in charger.

It's lost its charge and she is erm.... flummoxed.

I presume it was gonna charge thro the USB cable, told her to have the lappie plugged in so drawing from AC, but she says in two hours very little charge held?

    ANy one any ideas/suggestions ?

I know I should check on zen/vcreative forum, will try if I get time, but have been out of work, and my desk is covered in "to do"'s

It should have come with a charger. I'd bring it back if you can.

On the flip side though, it should defo charge through the USB connection. Maybe the laptop isn't designed to give much juice through its USB connection? I'd check in the laptop forum on that front.

The Zen Micros do not come with a charger as standard. Will charge through the USB connection but some laptops won't deliver enough current.

Odd. Is that a recent thing that they don't come with a charger? My nephews one came with a charger. Hmm_messiah's one came with a charger too.

Try updating the firmware on the Micro. You can get it from the creative site (http://www.creative.com/support - I think). Some of the earlier firmware versions had charging "issues", namely the micro would occasionally appear to be charging but actually wasn't.

Something to do with switching it on before connecting it to the PC, or vice versa...

Hope that helps! Incidentally, anyone know where to get alternative "plugs" for the charger? I bought my micro from a US site, but I know you can just clip off the part that has pins on it, and it'd be handy not to have to use an adaptor. Not intending on hijacking this thread! The same site may benefit Hmm_Mesiah too :D
