    Hi,

I'm new to this forum on boards.ie. I'm very interested in the discussions but I'm totally confused by the diammetrically opposed opinions stated on almost every subject !!

I am wondering if any of you could point me to a guide or explanation of the potential for the creation of electricity through solar energy?

I am a complete novice, I don't know how much energy our family use at home, or how much we could create domestically using solar power. Come to think of it I don't even know how I would find out how much energy we use or even in what units it's measured. I suppose it's all on the electricity bill but typing this message it the first time I've really even even thought about it - all I've just been interested in how much it costs!!

Any links or book suggestions would be appreciated - remember it has to be basic - I have to start somewhere.

    Thanks
    AOA
