Unlocking The Ericsson T20e

my mobile was recently injured in an experiment to find out what would happen if you sat a mobile telephone on top of a lit banger. well... it didn't survive and now i'm looking for a new one. i made sure to recover my Eircell Ready 2 Go SIM card and i now have my eye's on the Ericsson T20e. one problem... AFAIK, it's only available from Esat Speakeasy @ IR£99. not too bad a price, but the phone will be locked to the network. after a bit of research, i am confident that i know how to unlock it. i will have to buy/make a F/M2Bus cable to connect the phone to my PC and run the unlocking software (available from various phreaking sites). using the supplied SIM is not an option for me; i don't want to change my number. i was just wondering if any1 has had any experience successfully unlocking the T20 (T20e). it would be great to know that in practice it can be done before i go and purchase the phone.

    thanx.

hi GenX... i got my info from a UK site: http://www.gsmsecretsworld.com
it's by not means a good site in terms of information, but it does give circuit diagrams for the cables for various manufacturers. the unlocking info page is @ http://www.gsmsecretsworld.com/engl/unlock.htm and i think you'd be quicker going straight there than trying to sift thru their gimmicky JavaScript ridden pages.

there's another more comprehensive, no sh1t page here: http://mobile.box.sk/

i have not done a thorough investigation into this, so im sure there are lots more sites on this topic. i'll keep u posted if i find better info.
