I am planning to start shotgun target shooting and eventually plan to buy a shotgun. I was just wondering are 12-gauge shotguns legal in this country & would there be much problem getting a license for one? Will any of the new gun legislation affect this or make it more difficult to own one? Any help appreciated.
    Thank You

    Yes .. 12's (Gauge) shotguns are legal , along with 8 , 10 , 16 ,20 , and 410.

You need a licence for any of them .
Sporting shotguns will not be affected by the changes to the firearms laws.

The easiest thing for you to do is visit a good gunclub or gunshop and look at what's available , there are a huge range of models and prices.

You really need to join a gunclub too.
