[US] New Characters *spoilers*

Okay, so I think we all know Michelle Rodriguez and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje are joining the cast as Ana Lucia and Ameka repectively in the next episode to be broadcast by ABC ('Orientation' Episode 3, series 2 which is being touted as a Locke episode ) but from a look at the imdb.com page for Lost I've come across another new character:

Cynthia Watros, formerly of the Drew Carey Show, will be joining the cast as Libby, a therapist.

Is anyone else not really looking forward to the addition of all these new characters?

Ok, the Others looked quite cool as silhouettes at the end of Adrift, but I don't really like what they're doing with the story at the moment. Don't get me wrong, it's still a fantastic show, and no doubt I'll avidly watch it (but not if the story becomes ridiculous), its just that I think these episodes are really, "un-Lost" like. (Don't ask me why I voted them both "excellent" :rolleyes: )

One of the main draws for me in the beginning was that the show was so mysterious, mainly due to Lostzilla. This hasn't really been touched on all that much, and they're focusing on the Others and the Hatch. I'd like to know more about Desmond, and all those symbols alright, but I could do without the Others tbh. I want all the original characters back on the island together, happy as Larry like in the first season.

Plus, Michelle Rodriguez is a skanky skanky hoe, and the inclusion of someone remotely in the public spotlight will take away from the show (imo).
Anyone else feel the same?

Well said qz. Im startin to get that ...''ah pants'' feeling about these new additions. I just hope they dont detract from the show( all though i fear they might for a while) We put in enough hours learning about our original 16 and desmond was just the sweetest add on. Too many cooks and all that!

i think you guys are missing the point a bit, in my opinion, the people we saw in silhouette at the end of the second episode are not THE others. rather they are the other passengers and/or some people from the Nigerian plane and maybe even the Black Rock who have gotten the illness that Dessie is in Quarantine from.

The real Others, Danielles Others, are the lads on the boat who didnt look to have the illness to me.

I think Jin meant Others as in, other people as opposed to kid stealing Others.

Yeah i was referring to ''other passengers'' which is great to see if it is them but i hope alot more juicy bits are revealed of what the hell is goin on in the island before we have to digest new characters.

we will have a lower emotional attachment to the new chars, so it will be better for us when they get killed off

I doubt it, Jin doesnt speak english and would'nt have a clue what they're talking about....he just see's different people to who he is used to seeing, and therefore thinks of them as the others.
