Villain is agro preflop and semi agg post flop..PF raises are usually followed up by continuation bets..I have been splashing about a bit..and have won some big pots with poo like J7o.
We both have a little over 200$ blinds .50/$1
I raise in MP to 6 with AhJh. Button min reraises me I call.
    Flop comes Qh Th 4s.
I check (planning on checkraising All in) he checks aswell.
Turn brings a 9c. ..more outs
    I bet the pot.
    He calls
River is a blank. (75$ in pot)
    I check, he checks

What range of hands do you put him on….I think the value of a bluff on the river is decreased due to my lag image… Should I have bet the flop..????All comment appreciated thanks.

I think that your plan to checkraise all in on the flop is utterly horrible.there's 25 dollars in the pot, and you want to commit your remaining 200. With such a huge draw why would you give him the chance to get away from the hand? I think you're much better off leading out, that way if you get raised you can get all of your chips in the centre, and his too.

As a corollary I think that on the turn you would be much better off check-calling. If you bet the pot and he makes a large reraise, you now don't have the odds to call.

as for villains range of hands: I personally don't think he has much. He could have J9 or two small hearts, or he could have ace-rag, there's some crazy showdowns at this level. i wouldn't be surprised if you were ahead on the river.

I don't really understand his call on the turn and then checking behind you on the River, it looks like an equally missed draw, or else something like a weak Q (which also doesn't make sense because of the check on the flop!!) My gut is telling me he had something like J10 or a smaller PP??
I'm interested to see how this worked out..

P.S. It's nice to see the Poker Forum has gone back to discussing (of all things!!) Poker :D:D:D ....

EDIT: Didn't see the min-reraise pre-flop, think HJ below has it right.....

I think he has Ak or JJ. A big bet might win it for you on the river, but Id let this one go.

I would normally lead on a draw like this but in this spot I tihnk you're better off just check calling. You don't want to be raising the flop here when his min raise could mean he flopped a set or has an overpair. His check behind worries me. If he makes a lot of continuation bets is he likely to bet with AK on this flop? Once he smooth calls that turn bet I tihnk you have to give it up on the river. He could easily be calling with the stone cold nuts there or has a set and is trying to get a cheap showdown because of the possible straight. A lot of the time a half pot bet on the river would be correct here but it really depends on your own read of the player. I'd let it go.

Is everyone ignoring the fact that he checked the river after Amarillofats checked???

I know it's unimportant, but it's what has thrown me off in this hand and what makes me think that HJ is correct....

he had JJ. and took it down.
I think with these stacks my pre flop call is ok..even OOP
I like Marq's idea of leading into him..
Should I wanna get all in with him on this flop!!??
I don't think I get paid off if I hit my flush..

what about the turn bet???Agree with Marq?
"I think that on the turn you would be much better off check-calling. If you bet the pot and he makes a large reraise, you now don't have the odds to call."
Thanks for comments..Drawing hands OOP. I will play one well one day
