    ive a 36 hr stopover en-route to Aus in KL, can anyone recommend a good hotel close to both airport and city centre

    I stayed in the Shangrai La in Kuala Lumpur nice hotel in a good area of town.

    Booked the room through trailfinders.

    The travel agent was suggesting the Shangri La also.
    How far from the airport is it??

    The Shangri La (if it's the same one I'm thinking of anyway, on Jalan Sultan Islmail) is in KL itself. The airport is a good distance from KL, you'll have to get a taxi (takes 45 minutes or more depending on traffic) or else the KLIA Metro which supposedly takes 35 minutes but I've never used it.
