First off, has anyone tried the new mouse that doesn't use a ball made by M$?

Is it any good? Is there a review somewhere I can read?

Second, I'm looking for something like a graphics tablet for drawing onto a computer (like a pad and pen). Anyone recommend anything (good and not expensive)?

i used a felt tip marker to draw on my puter.
if you use several different colours you can make some nice designs
my monitor is ful of spring flowers while my tower boasts a nice arangement of winter flora

dont draw on your screen or on your internal bits and pieces thou

Do you see me ringing IBM Support line? tongue.gif Less of the lip yungfella.

I've seen the MS mouse, if it works without a werid mousemat it could possibly be pretty cool for games, no more dirt lock.

actually from what ive heard of the mouse it works of a special mouse mat.
based on some sort of light reflection system. the mat has a series of really small grids, and thats why the mouse is sooooo more sensitive than regular ball mouse.

i think for most pc users it wont really work as they seem to either smoke/eat/whatever(insert smutty thought here) at their pc and the dirt on the mat would cause mayhem. my mat has so much ingrained fag ash that i'll be able to smoke it shortly!

you can draw on your mouse thou.
    celtic designs are perticularly nice!

As far as I know, the latest mouse (which was on the news) uses an internal scanner, a bit like a hand scanner and monitors the movement at how fast the picture changes of the item your moving over. They had a mirror as a mouse mat, but I don't think it needs a special mouse mat.

    Here's the link to it...

I wonder who they innovated it off?

it doesnt need a special mat, MS just say it wont work properly on marble or highly polished metal - just as i'd finished carving that all marble PC stand as well, took me three years the ba$tards smile.gif

works fine on wood, plastic etc. so no need for a mat at all, prolly Blue or someone like that will have a review up when it comes out, at 1500 scans a second it should be a bit accurate tho.
