Burning DivXs onto DVD

Probably been posted millions of times but with search down can't find an answer...

I want to burn a few DivX movies I have lying around onto a DVD-R but I'm not quite sure how...

I've got Nero installed but it only gives options to make VCDs and SVCDs and even then tells me I can't burn MPEG4s cos of encoding copyrights or something...

Anyways, anyone know a good application to let me burn a DivX straight to DVD so I can watch it on my DVD-player?

I think TMPEng is the best out there, takes bit of practice but it gives the best results of all the encoders I have tried.

    go to
www.afterdawn.com
..it has alot of guides for different programs etc on hoe to make dvds..you should get win avi and convert your files to dvd and them use nero burning suite...it has the whole tutorial on that site so just search for it on the site..

I use DivX-To-DVD to make the image, I usually fit about 2-3 movies on an image, and then shrink with DVD Shrink and burn with DVD Decrypter. It takes quite a while though.

The best guide is definitely here. You'll find anything about that kind of stuff there.

After you have them converted and they are sitting Audio_TS and Video_TS folders, what do you use to burn them?

For example, I am converting two seperate AVIs that I want on the 1 DVD. The APP has outputed them into two folders, AVI1 and AVI2, both with audio_ts and video_ts directories.

WinAVI has a plug-in that "talks" directly to Nero burning ROM.
If it's already output the files to a source file then just open Nero and drag the files that include all the vobs and such to the disc window and hit burn.

[edit] If you have the full Nero suite I find that Nero Express works best....I don't like the UI in burning ROM and vision express has too many options like creating menus etc

just use nero to run DVD then, it will ask for the location for Audio and Video file. just deag em both over.

if you want to burn .avi str8 to dvd to play on any dvd player, use Nero Vision, i think it also supports DIVX

Im using divxtodvd for putting xvid tv shows on dvd , but in order to get to the next episode you have to fast forward or go through chapters. I dont really mind but Im just wondering does anyone know of any program that basically does what divxtodvd does but has a menu screen with thumbnails for each different tv show/movie?

Nero Vision express can create all those chapter menus and options, and even make it look pretty professional if you're prepared to spend the time at it

    cheers for the info

What im trying to do is put them onto dvd so I can watch them on a dvd player. I have a few episodes in dvd format atm and each episode seems to be a different vob file. Nero vision doesnt seem to have the option of making a dvd with menus out of vob files just video cds etc. Anyone know of any programs that do this?

That's why you need Vision Express; it has the extra functionality that allows you to create menus and thumbnails and all that good stuff.
