    Hi all!

Yesterday I bought new vaio desktop, so now I want to transfer all my files (photos/videos/etc) from my old pc into the new one.
All together its about 20 gigs of stuff to transfer.
Can anyone help me with this?
Is there a way of transfering files via usb?
I googled little bit and I found that I would need some USB Data Bridge Cable.
Did anyone try that? And how does it work.
And of course -is it expensive?

Cheers for all the info :D

www.marxcomputers.ie used to do a usb cable with the necessary electronics for €30 or so

if the donor PC has windows XP then crossover cable cable connections are messy.

cross overs arent messy at all, just connect a cross over cat5 network cable between the two network cards, then just create a network between the pcs,go into internet explorer ant type \\name of pc u want to connect to,have all the files u want to transfer shared by right clicking them and going to sharing and security....

    1) Buy a crossover cable from PC World (easiest solution)
    2) Use it to connect the 2 PC's together
    3) give each network card an IP address
    4) Open Windows Explorer on one PC & in the address bar type in the adresss of the other PC e.g. \\192.168.10.1\c$ (where 192.168.10.1 is the address of the other machine.

    5) Navigate to the folders you want to copy & begin copy.
