Your best holiday

I thought i'd start a conversation about best holidays, maybe to inspire people to take a break from their computer and venture out into the real world.

I Haven't been on holiday lately, but my best holiday was probably when I went to South America 2 years back.

I stayed at my aunties house in the capital , they have pretty much the same things as any western location, despite what other people might think, but they have a hint of localisation everywhere you go. There's plenty to do , including skiing in the mountains (although I'm absoloute poo at skiing , so I didnt actually have the balls to go down a huge proper slope)

As I'm more of a townie, I preferred staying in the central city(ish) area, and helping my uncle with his business, I even got to drive his van :E

had to have 2 Vacinations to go , polio and rubella , if i recall correctly, insurance was cheap, the flight was about 700 quid because I travelled direct with British Airways because I didnt like the sound of having to swap airplanes in some foreign country...

Also , 3 hours into the flight, the air hostess was concerned because I was alone on the flight ( no parents, wh00t ) , so I got promoted to Business Class so i could be close to the door when I leave, so I could be escorted out the airport. My seat was huge , with ajustable lumbar footrest, little spotlight, TV in the handrest, non-stuffy air and a general relaxed feeling.

anyway, thats my 2cents, feel free to pop down your best holiday ;)

Best Holiday for me was trekking the Annapurna circuit in Nepal, walked to 17,500 feet, used to pick some a little weed most days and dry it on the back of my pack :). Even got to attend a buddist Ceremony and got to drink some Yak piss ( when in rome ).

Was there during a late monsoon season so had the valleys back and forth and the scariest rope bridges you have ever seen cos the normal bridges were washed out.

Spent a couple of weeks in Katmandu, really cool place, loads of pie shops, they do great apple strudle, a hang over from the days the Hippes stayed there, loads of cool restarants in Pie Alley.

Couple of years after that mooched thru India, Delhi big and smelly, Indians still spit a lot, Khajuraho weird almost alien like temples with erotic carvings a must see, Sikim, nice and cool, very civilised and great house boats to relax on, Agra, the red fort and the Taj Mahal you have to see them.... Bombay .... big and smelly but had a nice steak a'cheval on toast there....., and GOA, if you want to chill ... this is the place.

Culture is so different, if you fancy something a little different you have to try India or Nepal, you wont be disappointed with the experience, shocked maybe, sick definately, but the memories will never leave you.

DeV ... im talking a couple of months off ... blame Supernoodle for starting the topic.....
