best value tournament around. just wondered if Oscar's reading this is it going to stay shorthanded?. the general feeling amongst some players at my table the week youse were away in Barca(the week i won it :D) was that they would prefer 9 handed than shorthanded. i have to agree i would prefer full table myself if i had a choice.

I would not mind if it stayed shorthanded as its good experience. As far as I am aware its also the only shorthanded game in this city

ah yeah for those reasons i'd have no problem if it stayed shorthanded and i suppose it should. but just given a choice like and i'd choose full table.

    peeko/obscure about 30 ish runners

i feel my mistakes are magnified shorthanded and im not able to slunk away unnoticed. i also fear i could be on a table where nobody wants to deal when its shorthanded, the horror!!!!!!. hasnt happened yet though, there are always guys willing to deal but theres less chance if there are more tables. you actually dealt for our table that sunday. i was the tight player to your right.

    and no tip!

sorry i can't put a face to your name, introduce yourself next time. i'll be there again on sunday.

i love the shorthanded format cos it forces me to play more marginal hands and for a rock like me that can be very exciting

Im thinking of going something along the lines of:

1st Sunday of the month: Shorthanded
    2nd : Shootout
    3rd : Shorthanded
    4th : 9handed

yeah, n1. a good game even if i did play brutally last week. But tell me Oscar the clock was 20 mins blinds. Was that right? i thought it was longer? maybe we could start it at 4pm? just a thought...

Yea its always been a 20 min clock but with 4000 starting chips that should be plenty of time in a 30 player tourny, the problem in big field tournies appears around the 400/800 5/10 800/1500 as far as I can see so it shouldnt affect a small tourny

and i still managed to get knocked out in the first blinds with a brilliant, if ill-timed, monster bluff!

gonna play this sunday if I can, good game. :D

Good stuff I think it's time to launch myself into the real world! And this sounds like a nice cheap way to get back to the fitz.

Would a shorthanded omaha game once a month be pushing the boat too far?

Although not this Sunday, cos the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe comes first!

i second that. although having a self dealt pot limit game would probably drive me insane

funny i can remember everything about that day and everything about that hand, just not your face. i even remember asking dave if i could see his cards after u showed the queens. well done on your win.

You can play poker any day of the week....its not often the European Champions play the English Champions,If their is an early goal this game should open up.

well in fairness they did play each other 5 times last year and already this is their 2nd meeting in the space of a few days. I for one have seen enough. The highlights (if there are any this time) will suffice.

a format where the winner of each table progresses through to the next round.

Yea, shootout this weekend, if theres 30 players itll start with 3 tables of 10, each table plays down to 3 who go onto the final table with their remaining chips.

    New Schedule:

    1st Sunday 6handed
    2nd Shootout
    3rd 6handed
4th PLO and NLH (two seperate tournaments)
