    Dear Friends,

On September 15th 2005, the Deputy Governor of Ankara, Selahattin Ekremoglu, refused the legal registration of KAOS GL in existence for 13 years. His decision was reportedly based on the fact that the use of the words “lesbian and gay” in the application were judged immoral and unlawful. In addition he would have invited the public prosecutor to start a court procedure at the Principal Registry to close down KAOS GL.

We invite you to write and sign in your name the letter attached to the Turkish Prime Minister and send a copy to the Turkish authorities mentioned.

I am surprised at this, as I understood that the determinedly secular, post-Ataturk Turkish government supported not only female brothels, but male brothels also, as part of a 'sexual hygiene' policy.
