Anakin (as Vader) was the one who killed the Emperor in ROTJ hense it was he who finally eliminated the sith therefore bringing balance to the force.

It took a little longer than QuiGonn probably expected but the prophecy did come true in the end.

Pigmans reply pretty much answers it. It was indeed Anakin who brought balance to the force but in a roundabout and unforseeable way.

Yeah but isnt the force not totally brought into balance until episode 9 when the star system is destroyed??

Episode 9? Star System? What? You must be referring to a book or something, but certainly, Lucas didn't have books from the future included in his original train of though for the movies....

Anakin brought balance when he destroyed the Emperor

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by 'Eu?' but If you're asking what it is then it's 'Expanded Universe' ie anything StarWars related that isn't in the 6 movies

I always intreperted Anakin bringing balance to the force as meaning he balanced the dark and light side of the force - Sith appreciated both sides.
This resulted in his immortality with the ready brek glow when he killed his daddy in ROTJ. He was more a "key" and his presence was required for Yoda and OB1 to also make he move to the ready brek.........

Lucas says he ain't gonna make 7 8 and 9 but will the studios really let him not?

Lucas doesn't answer to the studios. He is to all intents and purposes an independent film maker albeit on a huge scale.

Apart from Ep4 GL had made all the films with his own money and he also owns the right to the SW franchise itself therefore it doesn't really matter what 'the studios' want because nothing SW happens without GLs sayso first.
