    Is it just me or is Walts mom a mean bitch? She hides the letters Mike sends to walt. Doesnt say Mike is his father. Doesnt let him see his son. WTF why does she suck so much? And Micheal is beng a dick on the island because of his son. So in essance she screwed up everything for everyone.

    Unlikely Franky Boy, I think it's more that she just put her career ahead of her family life and that her mother's instinct wouldn't allow her to concede that Walt would have been better off with his father. While the dead-beat dad gets most of the press, bad mothers exist too...

    Walt didn't know that michael was his dad, so she hid the letters as not to blow the secret. she was probably waiting until walt was old enough to understand without it disrupting his life. walt admitted he hated moving around all the time, so if he knew he had a father in the US he might have gone looking for him. the fact that she kept the letters instead of destroying them shows the opposite... she's not mean at all.

    ... it just depends on how you look at things.

    She has her lawyers just abuse him, and she pays for his hospitilization out of

    A) Guilt for causing the accident he was angry when he got off the phone with her.

    B) She tried to guilt him by paying him off in a sense so he would sign the papers.
