Dammit but I'm really getting to like Webstrings

Bought six packs of 7 strings for guitar at a cost of less than €20 including postage. I must say, since they attempted to charge me €45 for a set of bass strings (4), I have since had no reason to buy from a Dublin music shop. The last thing I have been buying here was strings, but no more. I'm fed up being ripped off and if that means my money goes abroad, then fine. When shops here start being sensible I might start buying here again but until that happens, webstrings all the way baby!

Must give them a look-in. Could use an opportunity to save a bit of money on strings. I only really buy those sorts of things here. If they ever tyr to charge me 45 squids for a set of bass strings though they can go poke themselves!

They're not the best strings you'll ever play, but unless you're playing the Point Depot tonight then they'll be fine for doodling around and practicing on :)

Anyone ever buy from these guys?

    Lord of the Strings
They appear to have a good selection and reasonable postage

Hmmm I'm not booked for the Point Depot any time soon but there is a message on my phone that I haven't checked.........

nah its just the wife reminding me not to spend any more money on guitars and equipment :D

By the way I received a Front Line analog chorus pedal that I got on Ebay last week this morning. It was only €16. Anybody know if these are any good?

eh, they're charging 29.90€ for a set of 4 ernie balls super sliky bass strings before p&p, not really worth the effort.

I'm not familiar with the strings you mention, Ferdi, but they have a pack of D'Addario EXL120 for Euro 5.95 which includes postage. I'm pretty sure I paid at least €7 for those in town? (But I wouldn't swear to it).

They are definitely cheaper for LaBella doubleballend strings than Stringsdirect.co.uk

Try Torresengineering.com , you can get ernie ball slinky's for as low as $3.50 a set and they have a big selection. I ordered about 8 sets a while ago. Shipping was minimal. Angela's music (Angela.com) have a good deal going on GHS Boomers too, which are ecellent also. About $2.60 a set as far as I remember.

EDIT* If you are buying online and only saving a euro or so a set then you may as well make an offer in town for buying a box os 12 or so srings, might be handier. If you have the cash lying around that is.

I'm about to order 10 sets of strings from Torresengineering but I cant see a shipping price added to the amount. Even at the final checkout page. When you say minimal do you mean free or do they charge you shipping after you confirm your order? Cant find the GHS boomers on angela.com

Yeah, they charge you afterwards I think. It was something like 10 dollars. Dont pay any attention to the stuff on their web page about not accepting overseas credit card orders. They said it was no bother when I ordred and that stuff was up then also. Good luck

FWIW, I went into town this morning, tried to buy a set of Fender Bullet strings. They didn't have them in Musians Inc, Music Maker, Perfect Pitch or Waltons. LOL? so IMHO you might as well buy them on-line.

Your reading that **** that comes with Fender. I don't think the bullets made the slightest bit of difference to the Strat, only to my pocket. Bullets my arse, just another silly gimmick!

    I seem grumpy today dont I :(
