    That's interesting.

It must be going to jump back a bit and show us the inside of the Hatch from Locke's perspective.

That's a nice little move. We're having our cake and eating it.

Will it be the queen predator that fell into the sea in Alien vs. Predator that shows up?
Can we expect Danny Glover or Arnold to make cameos as 'the others'?

ill be glad to see the entry to the batcave from Locke's POV. that last episode has got me so into the desmond plot i don't really care about poor little Walt.

and when will Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (wombosi from bourne identity; yes, i ctrl+ved his name :o) come into it? he was credited as a star last week.

You would have to assume he is a Nigerian from the drug smuggling plane. I love that guy, he has the coolest African accent I have heard in years.

    ooh.
i wonder were they real priests or was it as they castaways suspected, just convenient disguises for the smuggling.

i can think of five or six ways those crazy Lost writers could explain priests with a plane full of heroin.

and yes, i loved the accent.

In Exodus 2 when Michael and co. were looking out at sea you could see a shadow moving about exactly like the shadow that appeared around Locke when he was being pulled into the hatch.Nanotechnology, perhaps? Jolene Blalock ("Enterprise") has assumed the role of a character called
    Nikki
Interesting stuff cant wait for it!

    nanotechnology has already been disproven,,,
i also dont think Jolene Blalock will appear in this episode after all, since they've changed the character who's flashback episode it is from
    sawyer to michael
although we will definitely be seeing
    Libby :D

Yeah.. it was in the TV.com plot summary that she was in it but good ol' AintItCoolNews.com reported it as being BS!

She'll be in a later episode.

It's pretty funny that this thread has 25 posts before anybody has ever seen the episode.

I now concede that Desmond did punch the numbers into the computer key board. One would have to assume that because he ordered Locke to do so that that is what he was doing as well. It was great seeing the Hatch from Kate and Locke's point of view. For one thing we got to hear a little bit of Sing Your Own Kind of Music again. and that's always a plus.

The Michael flash back's were kind of lame. But i am pretty sure that
The eveil blonde bitchy lawyer is on the island. She looks very similar to a woman seen in photos on a link in this site

I did how ever enjoy the Bickering between Sawyer and Michael. Very funny. Best line of the show though. "Jack's just probably going to do something heroic" that was just histaricle.

Poor Charlie and his drug habbit. I really don't wanna see him go down that road again.

i must say, after some initial doubts 2.2 was excellent!
    much better than 2.1
since theres still a few people browsing who havent seen it i'll put my thoughts in a spoiler tag
i thought the whole kate/locke viewpoint from the hatch just worked fantastically and even though the flashbacks were somewhat weak, they still fitted Michaels desparation to find walt well, and seriously how awesome was that polar bear soft toy!!! i wonder if we're going to learn how jin got onto the island and tied up, and also where he learnt the word 'others' from ?
    brillaint ending shot as well!

I too really liked this episode. For those who thought that the series was starting too quickly, this ep slowed down the flow of information a lot compared to ep01.
I was impressed by how we got flashbacks to what happened last week to fill in the missing blanks. Desmond is waiting for someone to relieve him of his 'shift' in the hatch. Kate is alive and well and Desmond doesn't seem to know who Jack is !

I guess we can start taking these spolier tags off when more people have seen it.

    Very good episode.
I couldnt make out what Desmond asked Locke but i think it was
What did one snowman say to the other snowman?
    ..
Some kind of test to see if Locke is his replacement?
Did he also ask Locke if the world was still going on?

Yeah you heard it right. I guess he was expecting someone and this was the challange question which Locke didn't know the answer to.
Desmond asked if the world was still out there. Either a) he wasn't expecting it to be maybe due to the illness spreading from the island or b) he was left alone for ages when he expected someone to visit earlier and said it sarcastically.

I don't know how anyone could think it's starting too quickly! :D You don't get nearly enough info in an episode to satisfy my curiousity!

Enjoyed the ep, but not as much as 1st one... didn't really learn anything. Next weeks one looks good...

Overall I'm a little bit disappointed with this one! Roll on next week!

Next week looks like an importand one.

not much point in spoiler tags.

Firstly did anyone noitce when sawyer wakes up to michael crying, that up the the left corner of the screen, there's a boat in the distance lol. Obviously nothing to do with the story, but a little mistake all the same.

Episode was great, but not much more info. Whats the octagonal symbol all about? and as for the numbers, they seem to be a sequence that stops something from happening. Every 108 minutes though? Also, i noticed that michael gives a toy bear to walt, maybe why he was draawn to the comic in the first series? Looking at the teaser trailer at the end of the ep, its seems that
next week, the back of the plane meets up with the front
. There is still soooooo much information and twists.

i also liked how, the current seemed to bring them back to the island, as if the couldn't leave. For some reason, this series reminds me of the Lagaleers (sp) by steven king

The thing i dont understand was that the promo said the islanders will learn their fate.

i didnt see any of that.

it was a good episode...But with all these items having a symbol it its just making it clearer that there is some corporation that is running the whole show with the others being their henchmen.

It has me thinking wheter its like the island in the incredibles where they are testing new technology.

The plane crash was planned to get unaware test subjects. but how do you orchestrate a crash with so many survivors?

and then there is the whole Walt and Claires baby issue...

arrrgggh this is just wrecking my head!

further looking found this anyone notice familiar numbers

    paqua.gif

    THEORY OF THE PA QUA

The "Pa Qua" is the eight sided (octagon) figure which is part of Hung Mei's school identity. However, its meaning goes much deeper than merely that of being a logo.

The figure consists of 24 sections - eight sides multiplied by the three lines drawn on each side. These sections represent the 24 hours in a day. The sequence of broken and solid lines shown on each side of the Pa Qua are indicative of the times during the day when our 108 critical points of the body are safe from injuries which could otherwise cause serious harm.

There is a relationship between the theories of Oo Heng and Pa Qua. The Pa Qua teaches when the various critical points of the body are the most vulnerable to attack. Oo Heng teaches the techniques which can be used to effectively attack those points. Together, they make a powerful weapon to be used in the defense against an opponent.

I thought that this was a very good episode, would give it 9/10. As usual they don't give to much away, they probably give more away in the trailer for the next episode than they did in the whole of this episode.
I thought that the ending was really good, I was wondering the whole time were Jin had gone, didn't think that he was dead but was surprised to see him on the island when Michael and Sawyer got to land again.
The hatch part was excellent, loved the way that Kate nearly got shot (not that i want her to die or even get hurt), but in the last episode it just seemed like the bullet was hitting nothing special.
I wonder what all these signs and logos have to do with, maybe Jins father in laws company?
Can't wait for next week now, it looks like it is going to be a brilliant one :D

Hmm, i'm not sure there is anyone down there with Des... the table tennis table was turned up to that one person could play on it.

I spotted the boat/yacth int he background when sawyer was talking. Produced should get a kick up the arse for that one. Also last week when they were doing shots ont he raft you could see the reef below them even though they were meant to be out at see. They couldn't have had more that 5/6meters of water below them. Another kick up the arse please.

Kate stealing the bars was funny. Once a convict always a convict.

I wonder why des is asking 'so the world is still out there?'. Does he think there was a plague/event that killed about 5billion people? Its possible that this island is a last outpost for a large company. Anyone read The Business by Ian Banks? This is the sort of thing that was going on in that book.

My cousin sent me the preview of next week also. Others. mmm, this will indeed be interesting.

It's very possible that next week wont show us what happens with the others etc. etc... and that it might end with the lads on the beach with the others... we still have to find out what happened with Jin and how the lads back at camp got on when SuperDoc left them... It's possible that there will be quite a few episodes where the timeline doesnt really progress ... hope not!

Yes excellent episode. I also spotted that mark on the shark, froze it to make sure. Someone else mentioned it would be a shame if Charlie went back on the dope and it would also be a bit of a lame story line to rehash it.
I was wondering if there was any significance in Mike being asked by bitcy lawyer to repeat that he was the boys father for the record???
Neither Kate or Locke recognised Desmond. Time to pack in that theory?
Today I received the Fantastic Journey series on DVD. For some reason Lost put me in mind of it and I managed to find it on sale online. A strange series where a group of travellers get shipwrecked on an island and there is an evil brain in a jar (I kid you not) who wants to use a boys body for himself so they are on the run from the brain travelling through time??? trying to get back to their own time and so on. Anyone remember it?

    Another good episode. More questions.

I don't think Desmond is waiting for a replacement. That doesn't quite fit his profile if you ask me. The questions and his body language suggested otherwise too. If he was waiting for his replacement, then surely he wouldn't have seemed as happy as he did when Locke answered "Yes, its me". Fair enough, being trapped underground for a while can make you desperate, but not quite that desperate. Also, he wasn't surprised by Locke's lack of uniform / gear. The only thing that triggered his suspicious was Locke arriving with a woman.

Seeing as Desmond is obviously a man of faith (:p), I would guess that he's part of some doomsday cult or something. If I was to speculate, I'd say he was waiting for the second coming of Jesus, and is assuming that the sickness on the island is one of the plagues talked about in Revelation at the end of the Bible. Thats why he's surprised at the world still being out there, and why Locke is travelling with a woman.

Of course, thats just a theory, but I think there's at least some evidence to support it.

I didn't enjoy waiting over a half hour to finally arrive at last week's cliffhanger only for nothing to progress. They did wait until ep2 to resolve last season's cliffhanger so I don't know why I'm surprised - I guess it's because we all knew they were gonna survive and go back to the island (except maybe Jin who I almost forgot about). Michael's flash backs weren't the may west either - only learned that Michael is a talented artist (which I think we knew kinda already).

This week reused lots of last weeks footage, rehashed Charlies issues somewhat, and rehashed Michael's paternity battle, but people still think it was a great episode...? It was alright.

...the countdown and the shark fin were interesting though.

Hmmmm.... a good episode. Not excellent but very good all the same!

    What i liked:

    - the different perspective from Locke and Kate down in the hatch
    - Desmond's character is turning out to be a real dark horse.. never wanting to give away too much (or practically any) information.
    - Kate taking a break to thieve chocolate bars... :D
    - my personal highlight of the episode: that absolutely chilling final shot of the episode with 'The Others' silhouettes coming over the hill! ** shudder **

    What i didn't like:

    - Michael's backstory .. didn't seem to learn much more apart from the fact that he let Susan take Walt without subjecting the situation to a nasty court case battle over custody. Loved the polar bear bit though! :D
    - Michael and Sawyer's bickering wasted what seemed like 10 - 15 minutes of the episode. Was essentially used to show Michael's guilt and trying to pinpoint blame on others.
    - Charlie and Claire's short scene regarding the statue. Really should have been left to a episode shortly in the future. Just didn't belong in there with the Hatch / Raft situation ongoing.

A few things i'd like to add.. don't think they've been mentioned yet:

    - Desmond's line "what did one snowman say to the other snowman?" is an old children's joke. With the punchline being "do you smell carrots?" so i'm guessing his "replacement" will respond with just that!

    - the counter displaying 108 after the numbers were entered by Locke... why? Simple.... 4+8+15+16+23+42 = 108

Oh, and roll on next week! It looks excellent-e!! For those of you who may have got no promo or a slightly garbled one at the end of "Adrift".. here is a RealPlayer version of it!
