Apologies if this is against the forum rules or something that bore you all to death but...

I'm amazed at the abuse i'm getting while i play on paddypower P. I only really play for "play" money :o and 50c tournies...so i'm pretty much a bottom feeding fish.

I'm a really really bad player. i know that. If i was any good i'd play for higher stakes.

But when i knock some arseholes out, after they make **** calls, i get abuse...just now i had just over a 1000 chips left heads up against some american punter with about 17000 and beat him by stealing blinds and calling his shocking limps/bluffs...he then said i was a bad player and that if he had had better cards he'd have shown me how much i sucked....i mean wtf!

anyway, is abuse pretty much part and parcel of the game?

    lol...what a muppet.

All part of the on-line game, but it seems you are learning !

lol...i have alot to learn :)

i just don't take to kindly to being called a fool by a player who is even worse than me.

There is nothing more satisfying than being called a F@*%ing fish by a crazy mad yank. I love it :D

Play 64s. It gets people on tilt. Even people watching :)

    So what is a 'fish'?

I really should know what the insults thrown at me, when I'm playing online, mean :p

yeah sometimes i set out to be a tilt inducer.

playing in a very steady game of heads up poker online recently 2000 starting chips and after a while i was chip leader. the player went all in for his last 700 with blinds 100/200 and i decided to call with 83 from the BB, he had 82 so split pot!. he types after a while "how can you call with that".
a few hands later i replied: "pot odds" :D .
he replied: pot odds my AAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
he was tilted and when he lost and typed: you SSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKK
me: you should read about pot odds sometime.

a fish is a crazy fcuker looking 4 the last card eather to fill a run, flush or even looking 4 that high card....

Or basically a player that does not understand pot odds, by both giving good odds, allowing people to outdraw them, and over calling bets with few outs when the odds are against them.
They don't raise enough, call far too much, (they think everyone is bluffing all the time.... :D )
A huge mistake they also make is to generally call when they're in front, and raise/bluff when they're behind/outdrawn.
A general lack of understanding of the basic principles of poker...

    Ah cheers
Yeah was going to reply that sometimes it's ok to look for that last card to fill your hand, but then Ste said what i was gonna say

if you crave verbal, play blackjack in vegas, when someone 'takes' someone elses cards - that's fun (i.e. like playing with 13, 14 or so !!)
haven't played online as don't have broadband and there must be a time limit, but surely anyone can take typed abuse - you can't see that guy with the vein bulging in his forehead pointing at you and how you cost him his wages ! ! !

This is slightly off topic but I have been playing online for about 2 years without broadband (got it since) and there was no problems? What do you mean by time limit?

yep that's me...seriously :o:D nothing more stisfying than getting your flush on the turn and river...lol

but i've been honed on the fish farm which is play money.
Still as soon as real money is on the line even 10cent tournies, the standard of play shoots up 1million percent.

I played blackjack in Foxwoods a few years ago when the last guy at the table with 14 against the dealers 6 asked for a card. He hit a 7 for 21. Dealer turned over a King and hit a 5 for 21. Everyone at the table lost except your man.

The guy in the first seat stood up and made a run for him, but was stopped by a security guy walking by. He called the fellah every name under the sun as he tried to climb over the security man to get at him. Poor guy went as white as a sheet, but still didnt understand what he'd done.

At least online you can hit the mute / ignore / don't hit me button.

I agree its not nice.. sometimes people just arent and that is that so you have a few choices:
Put them on ignore (we have this facility)
Enjoy the fact that you knocked them out and now they are incensed at you outplaying them.
Report it to a manager and we will ban their chat.

    :0)

I'm with Mike here, it's nice to see people lose there cool! And to see them lose there chips while you sit back and let them knock themself out, or double up! If they double up a little provoking might push him back on tilt later in the game :)
