i.t. course - work placement

    hey,

    i have work placement coming up in february. im in a hons degree in computer systems management. can anyone suggest a company that takes on students?

    i have a cv on monster, would monster be a good source of placements? i cant find many i.t. placements.

    I know Intel, IBM, Microsoft and Oracle do some form of program in Ireland for placements. Check out the banks they usually employ a lot of people. Check out companies that last years students went too. Don't stick your CV on monster, its no use there. Be more pro-active :)

    i was looking at intel, they take on a limited number of placements every year. will check the others now.

    It depends on where you want to work. I know that AIB and BOI usually take on a few co-op placements in Dublin. Dell in Limerick do too.

    try QAD in Limerick.... www.qad.com... worked there for 2 years.... great place to get experience... they take on work placement students as well... about 3 or 4 every year...

    That's a coincidence. One of my family also did the work placement in QAD. Did you do the B.Sc in Applied Computing in WIT by any chance ? The feedback that I heard about QAD was quite positive. However, in saying that, the person to whom I refer expressed no interest in applying for a permanent position there upon completion of college.

    Im not too sure what it is for co-ops but as far as I know it was one of the best going around.... that could have changed though....
