    ok, today i chaecked the buyandselldotie for a bass amp.

    half way down the page you will see:

    Ampeg SVT 15T 300w Bass Combo. Leinster Co. Dublin €400.00
    15" speaker. exc cond. €400 086-xxxxxxx

    i just saw 'ampeg'+'300w'+'€400' and knew i had to check it out. i've arranged to go down to CORK on saturday to get it. its in perfect knick etc.

    PROBLEM IS, if you check ampeg.com or google.com you will find no record or mention of a SVT T15. the guy who's selling it says he has never been able to find info on it either. whats the story? should i care?

    Get pics, front and back (especially the back panel where most of the relevant info is held) and the serial number. Then e-mail Ampeg if you still can't find anything.

    i emailed ampeg.

    your man never heard of this amp but i told him the serial number and he said it had bneen built in october 1991.

    does anyone know anything of the quality of ampeg products from this era? i know ampeg have a good rep now but were they of the same standard then?

    I don't know if they had any rough patches in the middle, but their reputation in the preceding decades was as good as it is now.
