the R5 is 8 kg lighter but the R4 got the 7band eq.

Neither unless they'd publish the frequency range of either, which I can't find on the site.

As for how much low end you'd lose, you probably wouldn't miss it unless you were using a 5 string or downtuning, but to give you an example from Ashdown's specs, their ABM 1x15 has a range of 37Hz - 2kHz, their ABM 2x10 with a tweeter has a range of 75Hz - 20kHz. Click here to get an idea of how much you're missing.

ok, i never thought the difference was so great....eh how detectable is it in a practical situation. if i go with 2x10, is it going to sound extremely thin in a three piece?

No, I reckon you'd be fine, it's really only if you start going for downtuned stuff when you'd start to notice it.

the range is 45Hz-15Khz on the R5
